Land and Water Stewardship

We believe that the landscapes and watersheds that make the Western United States a special place to live face multiple threats from climate change, population growth, and industrial/political pressure.

We seek projects that work at the intersection of protecting our cherished land and water resources, while working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders such as agricultural interests and communities.

In our water stewardship program, we choose one watershed for a three-year period to focus our grant dollars and attempt to address the challenges facing that watershed.

In our land stewardship program, we focus primarily on advocacy efforts to keep public lands public.
